If you’ve been furloughed during the lockdown and are starting to feel out of the loop with the processes of making great coffee, then why not sign up for some free training with the online barista training hub Barista Hustle?

Tendo, the online skills passport, is working with Barista Hustle to offer full access to Barista Hustle’s courses for one month. They hope that by having free access during a quieter period, baristas can complete one or two courses to continue to deepen or broaden their interest in the industry.

Barista Hustle has seven professional-grade barista courses ranging from entry-level skills to more specific areas of knowledge – percolation, terroir and coffee quality control. Material is arranged in a series of modules that take roughly 20 hours to work through, concluding with an assessment and a certification of completion.

All you have to do is go to tendo.id/coffee to find instructions on how to claim your free month. That’s it! There’s no charges, no sign-up fee. It’s just a chance to gain some extra knowledge via video tutorials from trainers including world champion barista Matt Perger.

Many baristas have already taken advantage of the free tutorials. Sabrina from Soho House in London joined up last month, “I love my job, as a barista and as a coffee trainer, so when lockdown started I felt lost without my job. Then Tendo gave me access to Barista Hustle courses for a month. The month literally flew by while studying every single course on Barista Hustle. It's an incredible platform because you can find any training you need, from the basic courses for beginners, to advanced courses that give you knowledge that not all baristas have, like coffee quality control, water use and advanced coffee making. To be the best in any job we need to be always updated and constantly trying to improve ourselves, even in difficult times. So this has been a great opportunity to improve my knowledge and still feel part of the coffee community.”

So why not use this downtime to brush up on your knowledge and skills?
